Dr. Raymond Forde, President of the Barbados Tennis Association, was recently honoured by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) at it’s Annual General Meeting held in Washington, DC.
Dr Forde was presented with the 2010 Award for Services to the Game by Mr. Francesco Ricci Bitti, President of the ITF and was one of just three administrators worldwide who received this prestigious award.
Dr. Forde, who has been President of the Association for the past 12 years, received the honour in recognition of his involvement in the expansion of Barbados’ junior development programme, the improvements made to the facility at the National Tennis Centre in Wildey, the staging of many local coaching and officiating courses and his work with regional tennis bodies during his tenure.
